Nokia Snow 4 Inch Phone Features 14MP Camera, Windows Phone 7

Mohamed Magdy is the same guy who designed the Nokia C8 handset that I’m sure you’ve seen. Today I’ve come across another design of his, the Nokia Snow, that’s detailed in the pictures and video below. This is a 4 inch smartphone with a 1000 x 600 pixel resolution and a beautiful glass body with chrome edges. You can find some other concepts made by Mohamed right here.
Nokia Snow 4 Inch Phone Features 14MP Camera, Windows Phone 7
The screen is a Super AMOLED Plus touchscreen and other specs of the Nokia Snow model include a front 2 MP camera, a 14.1 megapixel camera at the back, with Carl Zeiss optics, autofocus and LED flash. There’s also a SIM card slot on board, a microSD card slot, a microUSB 3.0 port, micro HDMI and a noise cancelation microphone. The device is supposed to run Windows Phone 7 and it adopts a flat design for its case. I like those Windows buttons very much, since they’re integrated into the device discretely.
The back of the phone and its rounded edges, plus that touch of chrome make it a pretty elegant device, certainly fancier than those plastic units Lumia 710 and Lumia 610. Is this better than the Nokia Lumia 800? Can’t really say, as they’re different designs, both pretty good. What’s Nokia going to come up with once they’ve used up the N9 form factor? We’ll have to wait and see…

Nokia Clarity, the First Windows Phone 8 Concept Since the OS Announcement

Bob Freking is back with a fresh design, the one of the Nokia Clarity handset, the first Windows Phone 8 concept since the announcement of the OS this week. The phone combines Metro UI with the latest OS features and a PureView camera. As you can see, we those smaller tiles included in the Metro UI, plus a clearer interface and apparently some way to make the UI transparent.
Nokia Clarity, the First Windows Phone 8 Concept Since the OS Announcement
The phone is a pretty long and wide one, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it were a 4.7 inch unit. It’s also pretty rounded at the corners and I guess that its screen is a 720p unit. Inside there should be a dual core Qualcomm CPU, unless it’s a quad core, for that extra processing power needs of the PureView camera. Nokia Clarity also supports LTE connectivity, has a 20+ megapixel camera with PureView tech, 64GB of storage, a 2MP front camera, NFC and a 2500 mAh battery.
These are all my speculations that follow the design of Bob Freking, so feel free to take them as a figment of my imagination. I think that this design is pretty good since it manages to deliver a rectangular phone with great width, rounded corners, crisp display and PureView camera, plus WP8 on board. How much would you pay for it?

Xperia Mix Phone is the First Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Device

Esato board member kewsvnet designed the Xperia Mix, a Sony Ericsson concept that might just be the first Android 4.0 device I’ve seen. This model runs the OS also codenamed Ice Cream Sandwich and packs some appealing features, such as a Qualcomm Snapdragon Dual Core CPU and 1 GB of RAM.
Xperia Mix Phone is the First Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Device
64GB of internal storage will save all your songs and video files, while upfront there’s a 3.2 OLED capacitive touchscreen, Sony Ericsson Xperia Mix comes with a carbon fiber body, a sliding keyboard with LED interactive input and an 8 megapixel Exmor R camera with HD video recording. There’s also a secondary 1.3 megapixel camera at the front.
The connectivity options are the usual TV out, WiFi a/b/g/n, DLNA, Bluetooth 3.0 and NFC. The sliding keyboard gets multifunctional symbols, in case you want unique features.

Sony Ericsson Beat, a New Walkman Concept From Frank Tobias

You can find all of the Frank Tobias Sony Ericsson concepts on our website and rest assured that there are quite a bunch. We’re dealing with a Walkman phone here with musical features, a large touchscreen and probably a very good camera. The design is very Xperia-like, if you ask me.
Sony Ericsson Beat, a New Walkman Concept From Frank Tobias
Sony Ericsson Beat is an Android model, it packs a front camera and most likely the TrackID, Walkman Player and other similar audio features, specific to the Walkman models. It’s interesting to see the word “Beat” or “Beats” being used by more and more music devices. On the one hand we’ve got HTC Who bought the Beats by Dre company and now offers handsets with great audio systems and now we’ve got this Sony Ericsson Beat music phone.
Plus, there’s also the HP TouchPad tablet with Beats audio… If there’s any link between this Sony Ericsson Walkman concept and the Beats by Dre brand, we should expect a fantastic set of earphones to be bundled with it. Of course, since this is only a design, there’s no telling when this model will come to life.

Sony Ericsson Xperia Prisma – a Monolithic Block of Technology

Does this Xperia concept phone look like a monolith or what? The Sony Ericsson Xperia Prisma was created by Maika Sylva, from Rotterdam, Netherlands and while it may not be the most beautiful design, at least it’s original. A bit too wide for my taste, this handset also has some modern specs, that you can read below.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Prisma a Monolithic Block of Technology
Xperia Prisma comes with a 1.4GHz processor, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as the OS, a display with an 800 x 1000 pixel resolution and a chassis that’s 13mm thick. There’s also a 10 megapixel camera on board and support for 4G, WiFi and Bluetooth 3.0. The device weighs 140 grams and comes with the usual 3.5mm audio jack.
The classic capacitive Android buttons are on the sharp cut lower side of the phone, that stands out from the entire design. This look like more of an Xperia Mini series of device, so it may be the small and resilient kind, like the Xperia Active. The interface looks nice, but it seems that the image has been dragged and pulled to fit the screen, which is not exactly top notch editing. Now, you have your say about this Sony Ericsson concept…

Sony Xperia Vision, a Device With Both Windows Phone and Android, Plus a 3D Display

Sony Ericsson Xperia Vision is a concept created by Shaik Imaduddin, a device that runs both Windows Phone and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The interface of Android ICS is a custom one, as shown in the images below. This is a PlayStation certified phone, a 4.3 inch 3D Bravia screen and a dual core processor.
Sony Xperia Vision, a Device With Both Windows Phone and Android, Plus a 3D Display
Sony Xperia Vision also has a 12 megapixel 3D camera with 1080p HD video recording and Sony Xplod audio technology. There’s also a Walkman audio player on board, as you can see and I bet that the 3D graphics look stunning in this case, unlike the LG Optimus 3D and HTC EVO 3D. I wish Samsung would make a move on the 3D market, but they don’t seem interested, so Sony could grab the opportunity. I have yet to understand the deal with the semicircle at the top of the phone, but it may just be a design gimmick, like the ring on the Xperia Ray.
I guess it lights up when you get notifications. Overall the design reminds me of the Xperia Arc combined with the Samsung Omnia 7. Any ideas you’d like to add to it? Cool Tron fonts by the way…

Sony Xperia Eterion is Back With a Flagship Design

The Sony Xperia Eterion smartphone has been pictured before on our website and now it’s ready to make the third appearance. Designed by Frank Tobias, this smartphone adopts a rectangular design and reminds me of the Xperia S and Xperia Ion devices, particularly through that dotted area at the bottom, that somehow replaces the notification area on the Xperia S and its lighting.
Sony Xperia Eterion: Take 3
This flagship Sony Xperia comes with a 4.5 inch Full HD display with a 720p resolution and 4 buttons at the bottom. These are capacitive buttons with symbols that appear each time you need them. There’s a 16 megapixel camera at the back and Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as the OS here, plus 16GB of storage and up to 128GB of extra memory. The CPU of choice here is a quad core unit with 1.4GHz frequency, accompanied by 2 GB RAM. I wonder what kind of customization ICS will suffer…
Maybe the MediaScape and TimeScape have evolved into something greater and more modern this time. Or maybe Sony decided to customize everything, from icons to widgets and phone functions. Anything goes, since this is an Xperia concept after all.
Frank Tobias created the Sony Xperia Eterion concept that you’ve all seen a while ago on our website and now he’s back with the detailed view on the handset. We can finally have a look at its back, profile and a list of imagined specifications. This phone render is associated with a 4.5 inch Full HD Crystal LED touchscreen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.

Sony Xperia Eterion is Back With a Flagship Design
Xperia Eterion has 4 touch buttons on the lower side and their symbols will appear under them when they’re needed. I guess that this could upset Google, that ordered all makers of Android 4.0 compatible hardware and software to give up the Menu keys and other extra buttons they had, both virtual and physical. Back to this 2012 Xperia concept, it also comes with a 16 megapixel camera with LED flash and a very original design of the cam + flash area, that’s minimalistic and elegant. It’s almost like a little keyhole…
I guess that the three dots above the Sony Ericsson symbol are the speakers here, but I may be mistaking. You must know that the Sony Xperia Eterion runs Android 4.0 and the designer also promised a version with Android 5.0 Jellybean in the future. Other specs include 16GB of internal memory, a quad core 1.4GHz processor and 2 GB of RAM. Frank Tobias hopes that this Xperia design is OK… I say it’s more than OK, it’s great!

Xperia Pop Concept Runs Windows Phone, Has Plastic Shell Ca

Xperia Pop Concept Runs Windows Phone, Has Plastic Shell Case
Brianmfb finally turned into reality what folks have been speculating that Sony would do for a long time: a Windows Phone unit. Meet the Xperia Pop concept, pictured below in very bright colours and packing features that would match the preferences of a youngster. The handset is made of two parts: the device itself and the colored part the designer calls shell.
Xperia Pop Concept Runs Windows Phone, Has Plastic Shell Case
The shell is made out of plastic and can be removed to gain access to the battery and SIM card. These colored cases can be bought in various color versions, for about $29 and this idea was also found on another Windows Phone, the Nokia Lumia 710. The idea of “jackets” for a phone, with different colors gained popularity about 2-3 years ago when Samsung launched the Corby phone. Nokia also has some Symbian models with this idea behind them, like the new Nokia 500 handset.
I have no idea what the specs of the Xperia Pop are, but I guess that they include the usual single core 1.4 GHz Qualcomm CPU, 512 MB RAM, 8/16GB of storage, an 8 megapixel camera, a 4.3 inch display, front camera and maybe even LTE. This handset would sell for around $300, if it were real…

Sony Xperia I Render, Fresh Quad Core Phone With Tegra 3 CPU

If I were to guess what CPU Sony would use when they make their first quad core phone, Tegra 3 is one of the options that comes to mind. Designer Shaik Imaduddin took this into account when creating his latest Xperia concept, the Sony Xperia I, pictured below. Here’s the handset with a trippy picture on the screen:
Sony Xperia I Render, Fresh Quad Core Phone With Tegra 3 CPU
The design keeps the same rectangular and minimalistic look of other recent renders with the Sony branding on. This is an Android 4.0 smartphone, with a 4.5 inch display, a quad core Tegra 3 processor, 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. There’s also a 20 megapixel camera at the back with Xenon flash and I guess that the screen is a HD one. Add to that a front camera, most likely NFC and LTE and you’ve got some sort of upgraded Xperia Ion here.
Since Nokia already have a 41 megapixel cameraphone out there, that 20 MP sensor doesn’t stun anyone any more… The next stunner will be the 1080p display phone or maybe the one with a flexible screen, if that ever happens.

Sony Xperia Play HD Uses Tegra 3 CPU, 720p Screen

Remember the Xperia Play 2 concept by Jsus? There’s now an alternative to that idea, created by Bob Freking this time: the Sony Xperia Play HD. This design keeps pretty much the same sliding part of the original Xperia Play, but totally revamps the specifications to a modern level.
Sony Xperia Play HD Uses Tegra 3 CPU, 720p Screen
The front side of the device somehow reminds me of the HTC One devices and those 3 capacitive dotted buttons at the bottom are very much like the dots on the Xperia S. Anyway, the Sony Xperia Play HD comes with a 4.3 inch 1270 x 720 Reality Display, 32GB of storage, SD card slot, 1.5GHz quad core Tegra 3 processor and an 8 megapixel camera with 1080p HD video. There’s also 1GB of RAM on board and the ability to play PSP games, via download I presume. Bob Freking wanted to make a PSP Phone powerful enough to play Final Fantasy games and I totally understand his idea.
Being a Final Fantasy fan myself, I can really see how some people would like to play any title of their series on their smartphones and it’s sad that they can’t do that right now, at least if they have Android. iOS users have that nifty Final Fantasy III available… Imagine if Final Fantasy VII would get a new title compatible with Android Tegra 3 phones like a PSP Phone 2… that would kill all competition, right?

Sony Xperia R Features Super AMOLED Screen and 2GB of RAM

Once again Ben Ling emailed us his fantasy Xperia device, the Sony Xperia R, packing a Super AMOLED display and a 12.1 megapixel camera. This Xperia concept features a 4.6 inch scratch resistant screen and its camera uses a LED flash, plus offers support for 32x digital zoom and 1080p video recording. Nothing out of the ordinary so far, right?
Sony Xperia R Features Super AMOLED Screen and 2GB of RAM
Sony Xperia R features a front 2 megapixel camera with 1080p capture, a quad core 2 GHz Cortex A9 processor and a chassis that measures 7.5mm in thickness. The device weighs 130 grams, features 2GB of RAM and runs Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, the freshly announced OS from Google I/O 2012. Other features include 32GB of storage and Ben Ling also mentions that the screen has a 398 ppi pixel density and that the Sony concept phone is both water and dust proof.
As usual we some of the typical Sony technologies for handsets: Mobile Bravia engine, White Magic technology and possibly even xLOUD. The handset packs a Li-Ion 2100 mAh battery, Bluetooth 4.0 and the screen supports multitouch for up to 10 fingers. Finally, the phone has a microSD card slot and NFC. As far as design goes, to me this model looks a bit like the Xperia Ion. I can see that there’s also a camera button on board, which is always a good thing.
