New Samsung Galaxy S4 Render by Alessio94X: All About Minimalism

Deviantart user Alessio94x has created a very interesting Samsung Galaxy S4 concept, that you can check out below, in two versions. He created two different versions of the camera sensor area, with the second one below being the more elegant and also larger one.

The handset looks pretty simplistic, minimalistic and feels like a comfortable thing to hold. I imagine that the back gives out a velvet-style feeling or it uses that nice finishing material that the BlackBerry PlayBook had for example.  The camera at the back of the Galaxy S4 features a dual LED flash and if I were to guess, I’d say that Samsung would finally jump to 10 or 12 megapixels this time. There’s also a discrete front camera and a very neatly integrated Home button too. I supposed that near it we find the usual Back and Menu buttons.
Since we’re going deeper into the future, this model could run Android 4.3 or Android 5.0 or whatever Key Lime Pie ends up being. It should also have LTE on board, NFC and an evolved version of the Nature UX, a new Smart Stay and definitely a new S Voice, that was a bit disappointing. The battery couldn’t hurt an upgrade as well. As far as CPU goes, an ARM Cortex A15 of the Exynos kind would be fine. When it comes to diagonal, everyone is talking about 5 inches, but what about the sweet spot of the Galaxy Nexus, at 4.65 inches? Could this Samsung Galaxy S4 take on the iPhone 5S?

Jolla Mobile Phone Mockup Created by Mohammed Shihuzaan

Mohammed Shihuzaan imagined an interesting Jolla phone concept with Sailfish OS on board. As you know, a big part of Nokia’s MeeGo team migrated to other projects and those “other projects” include Jolla. This device is a tad bulky, but seeing how big and thick the Nokia Lumia 920 is, nothing surprises me anymore.

This Jolla Phone features a 3.9 inch LCD display, with a 854 x 480 pixel resolution and you should know that the “J” letter at the bottom is a notification LED as well. The device has USB OTG and mass storage of 16GB, plus 2 GB of RAM and an Intel Atom processor, plus LTE support. At the back there’s an 8 megapixel camera and at the front there’s a 2 megapixel shooter. The battery on the Jolla Phone is non removable.
The device seems to have a physical camera button and a very discrete camera integration. Honestly speaking, the design of the buttons seems a bit old and the camera strangely lacks a flash. I can’t figure out if this is supposed to a real smartphone or maybe a test mockup for Jolla programmers…

HTC Flyer 2 Tablet Concept Makes Subtle Improvements Over the First Model

Hasan Kaymak from HTC Concepts imagined a new version of the HTC Flyer, the famous 7 inch tablet from last year, that brought styluses on Android into mainstream. As you can see, the main idea of the design is kept, but there are dotted areas at the top and bottom, leading me to believe that in fact they are very large speakers.

There’s also a a bulky Scribe pen here, one that looks very professional and apparently there’s also a special Mathematics app that would help students with homework. The new tablet is razor sharp and it come with a camera, probably a 5 or 8 megapixel sensor. Since the design didn’t mention any specs, allow me to speculate some for you. I imagine that a quad core Snapdragon S4 processor would fit the tablet just fine and the 7 inch diagonal is kept, this time maybe with a resolution that’s past 1280 x 800 pixels, maybe something in the range of Full HD or 1200p even?
Anyway I also expect 2 GB of RAM on this device, 32 GB of storage, no microSD card slot (for some reason), LTE and… a surprise! Imagine if HTC pulled out a special gaming dock for this tablet, allowing you to place the slate inside it and have a ball with Xbox-like controls. Wouldn’t that kill every other tablet gaming-wise? Just think about it… and also about OnLive and the fact that HTC has PlayStation certification! Dreamy right?

Sony Xperia Quad Concept by Ben Ling Has 5 Inch Display, 14 MP Camera

Ben Ling is back with yet another concept phone, the Sony Xperia Quad handset, that you can see below. Dangerously close to the definition of a phablet, this 5 incher feature a Full HD TFT shatter proof screen and a scratch resistant body. The screen supports a 1080p resolution and at the back of the device we find a 14 megapixel camera with LED flash.

There’s an Exmor RS sensor in here, as well as Sony White Magic technology and support for 16x digital zoom. The camera does 1080p video recording and the front 2 megapixel camera is capable of Full HD capture as well. The specs list of the smartphone involves a quad core Exynos 4412 processor, although strangely the list also mentions a Krait CPU with quad core 1.7 GHz frequency, so maybe there are two versions. The handset measures 9.2 mm in thickness, weighs 129 grams, so it’s 17 grams heavier than the iPhone 5.
It also has 2 GB of RAM, LTE, Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean as the OS and the usual selection of Sony technologies, like Mobile Bravia Engine 3, xLOUD Experience and more. Finally, there’s a Li-Ion 2500 mAh battery on board and microSD is also here. As far as design goes, the handset is more screen less body, being totally focused on the screen area and less on various body modifications to appeal to the eyes. Frankly I find that transparent bar on some Xperia models useless and Sony may figure that out too soon…

Samsung Galaxy S4 is Here! Your Suggestions and Comments Were Turned into a Mockup by Bob Freking! (Video)

Bob Freking asked you to suggest everything you want included on the Samsung Galaxy S4 in this post and you posted a lot of replies, for which we thank you. Now, after carefully analyzing your answers, Bob created the wonderful Samsung Galaxy S4 mockup with specs you can see below, the fruit of your desires and needs. Let’s see what this newcomer brings!
Samsung Galaxy S4 is Here! Your Suggestions and Comments Were Turned into a Mockup by Bob Freking! (Video)
So, we’re dealing with the 2013 Galaxy S, that features a 13 megapixel camera with backside illuminated sensor, autofocus, 1080p 30 fps video capture. The device is scratch proof and shatter proof and it has an option with an aluminum back as well. There are 6 different versions of back sides to use for this model, that also packs a 3 megapixel front camera with 1080p capture, as well as on screen buttons. Samsung Galaxy S4 has many hidden sensors and is merely 8mm thin, opting for a polycarbonate casing this time.
It also has a camera key and its screen is a 5 inch Super AMOLED FHD+ display with a 1080p resolution. It runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with the TouchWiz Nature UX 2 on top and S Voice and Google Now got combined into a single innovative feature. There’s also 2 GB of RAM, a 3500 mAh battery, 32/64 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and a quad core Exynos 5450 2.5 GHz processor. The handset certainly feels like an innovation but considering the Galaxy S III already sold 30 million units, this device has huge shoes to fill…
Will it deliver?
[Thanks Bob Freking]
