ZTE Nubia Z7 is Already a Galaxy Note 3 Rival

Erica Yusim sends us usually some Galaxy Note 3 concepts, but this time we’ve received from this source a device that seems to be a direct rival to the future Samsung phablet. Meet the ZTE Nubia Z7, the follow-up to the recently announced ZTE Nubia Z5.
ZTE Nubia Z7 is Already a Galaxy Note 3 Rival
The ZTE Nubia Z5 is a 5 inch 1080p device with Android 4.1 and a quad core CPU. Meanwhile, the ZTE concept is a 6.3 inch phablet, just like the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. However, it’s the resolution that’s the crazy part here, not the diagonal: 2560 x 1440 pixels. Inside the device we’ve got an 8 core setup, with a 4 core 2 GHz Cortex A15 plus a 4 core Cortex A7 at 1.4 GHz and Mali-T658 GPU. 4 GB of RAM are also here, as well as up to 128 GB of internal storage and a microSDXC card slot, for an extra 128 GB.
Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie runs on the Nubia Z7 and at the back we’ve got a 16 megapixel camera with autofocus, LED flash, BSI and 1440p capture at 60 fps. Bluetooth 5.0, LTE, USB 3.0, MHL and NFC are all here, as you may have expected. Finally, you should know that the concept phablet measures 9 mm in thickness, weighs 200 grams and packs a Li-Ion 4,000 mAh battery. So, what would you choose between the future Galaxy Note and this model?

Nokia 888 E QWERTY Touch Handset Combo Features Windows Phone 8 Portico

99% of all Nokia concepts we’ve seen lately feature full touch displays, but there’s the occasional QWERTY model. One such exception is the Nokia 888 E, a Windows Phone 8 Portico piece of work created by Edgar Mkrtchyan. The design is shaped as the figure of 8 and reminds me of an older concept by the same designer, but this time with a physical keyboard.

Portico
Nokia 888 packs a dual core 1.5 GHz CPU, most likely a Qualcomm Snapdragon, as well as 2 GB of RAM and a magnesium alloy chassis. The rear panel is available in 6 colors, from black and gray to yellow, red and cyan. There’s apparently a way to also trigger a numeric keypad with symbols included, by lighting up special keys by pressing Alt. This makes me think that buttons are capacitive or something and they can change symbols, if I understood the designer correctly. I may be wrong however…
This Nokia concept smartphone uses a 3.5 inch display, a 480 x 800 pixel ClearBlack screen with Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Other specs include a 13 megapixel camera at the back, Carl Zeiss optics, 1080p recording, dual LED flash and a secondary 2 megapixel camera. There’s also 16/32 GB of storage, a microSD card slot and a 2500 mAh battery. To that we add NFC, microUSB, Bluetooth and induction charging for the full package. This sounds like a real BlackBerry X10 killer, if you ask me…

First 2013 Concept Phone is the Samsung Galaxy S IV by Sanjaya Kanishka

Sanjaya Kanishka is a name that you’ve heard before associated to these concept phones. And now that 2013 is here (happy new year, by the way!), we greet you with a new concept from the same designer. This is the Samsung Galaxy S IV, in a new vision, that keeps some of the lines of the Galaxy S III, but also adds some novelty in the mix.

Kanishka
Strangely enough, this device seems to feature a Samsung S-Pen and it’s set to launch in April 2013, according to the designer. Keep in mind that Sanjaya Kanishka created this design based on the latest leaked rumors and information. The front side is pretty similar to the one of the Galaxy S III, but the new model has the notification light at the bottom, just like in the Nexus 4. The display here is a 5 inch FHD Super AMOLED+ one with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 and a density of 441 ppi. This screen may or may not be flexible.
Other features of the Galaxy S IV include an 8 core big.LITTLE processor, with a 2 GHz Cortex A15 quad core unit and a 1 GHz Cortex A7 quad core unit as well, plus Mali T-768 GPU. Samsung Galaxy S IV packs 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, a microSD card slot with support for up to 128 GB and a 13 megapixel camera at the back with Xenon flash. It’s got HDR Video recording at 1080p and 30 fps. We’ve also got the usual LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean as the OS.
In tandem with Android we get the TouchWiz 6.0 UI and inside the handset there’s a 3100 mAh Li-Ion battery that would make even the Galaxy Note II jealous. So, what do you think of this first 2013 concept?
